Mud Bee Studio

Monthly pottery commissions are currently closed.  Watch this page for when it opens again in the fall!

Working for 12 years with ceramics has given me a love of dirt. My love draws me to only the fanciest of dirts with which to craft my work. In the studio and in the garden, I have vowed to never be a clean artist!

I believe my own personal style has become very eclectic, having lived in several different countries overseas and I find inspiration in both Japanese and Medieval European pottery as well. My work encompses the wide spectrum of pottery (bowls, pots, vases) as well as the whole range of European and Japanese tea sets. I am also happy to work on more exotic pieces, some commissions I have completed include Unitarian fire goblets and sun altar chalices.

As a craftsman, I am keenly aware of how to work within your budget if there is a piece you have in mind. It goes without saying that all items I sell are handmade, no two will be alike although if a set is desired I can duplicate the design and style faithfully. The individual details may vary, but this is the nature of the artform and the mark of a truly handmade piece. I am dedicated to a piece once work has begun and I will maintain contact with the commissioner to ensure they are up to date with the progress.
